Beer Hockey League (BHL), a C Level Association based in the Chicago Area, is pleased to announce its first two members in the BHL league set to begin play this winter (2006). The Chicago Bulldogs will join the Bandits as founding members of Chicago Area's newest adult hockey league. BHL will be a league that will operate year round, with teams initially based in and around the Chicago land area. There are currently no leagues in this area providing opportunities for players to compete in an organized C Level league format.

PR9.NET November 11, 2005 - The Bandits and the Chicago Bulldogs are the first teams to be officially accepted into the league. Any team interested in participating in BHL must submit an application, which is then reviewed by the league office for approval. Teams are required to meet strict standards in regards to their proposed level of play and their commitment in operating their team at the most organized level possible.

By submitting an application, teams agree to operate within the guidelines set forth by the league. Their membership in BHL is for one year. At the end of each season, every member organization is reviewed to insure that they are working effectively to achieve the long-term goals of the league.

With the help of USA Hockey and the Chicago Wolves, Beer Hockey League will launch this winter with a minimum of 6 teams and a maximum of 8 in what will be billed as the league's "Showcase Season." Currently, 6 additional teams are either in the process of submitting an application or having their application reviewed by the league. The 2006 season is tentatively scheduled to begin play in January and will run through April with the Championship game to be played April 8th at the Allstate Arena.

In the past, we have competed in and around the Chicago-land area in league play, charity exhibition games and tournaments. By January 2006, the Bulldogs will begin play as a traveling team in the Midwest for competition with other semi-pro teams from as far north as Toronto, south to Memphis, east to Cleveland and as far west as Fargo.
