Hitch Source LLC announced a new line of Softride bike racks today. These hitch mounted bike racks offer a variety of enhancements and new features over the previous models.
PR9.NET November 17, 2005 - Hitch Source LLC announced today that they have released a new line of Softride bike racks. The bike racks are trailer hitch mounted and carry up to four bikes. The Softride bike racks incorporate a patented, parallelogram folding mechanism that keeps the bikes perpendicular to the ground throughout the entire range of motion.
The Softride bike rack line offers a wide range of improvements over their predecessors. First, the bike rack arms have been completely redesigned to incorporate a one piece bike cradle. This improves the durability and lifetime of the bike rack. Second, newly designed rubber straps offer enhanced life and stretch. Third, the entire line of Softride bike racks now includes locking hitch pins and a retractable cable for securing bikes to the rack.
The Softride line features three different models. The entry level Access Pull Pin series offers a new level of price/performance. It offers the same bike cradles as the other Softride bike racks and uses a t-handle, pull-pin mechanism for folding the rack. The Softride Access DX series offers a thicker gauge steel construction and a foot-pedal release mechanism that simplifies cargo access. The Softride Access HD is a model specifically designed for General Motors. The HD offers a pull-pin release mechanism with heavy duty tubing and hardware to ensure long lasting durability.
