Johnny Parsons III teams with Trey Hausmann
Indianapolis, February 23,2005 The grandson of legendary Indy 500 winner Johnny Parsons has joined with a young driver to create a new sprint car team. His goal in 2005 is to mentor Trey Hausmann from Grand Forks, ND. PR9.NET February 23, 2005 - Johnny Parsons III, the son of Indy Car driver and midget legend Johnny Parsons, Jr., is a racer in his own right. He has raced in a number of midget and sprint events all over the country including the Thunder in the Dome in Indianapolis. While in Indianapolis, he was a crowd favorite at Bush Stadium driving the Indianapolis Colts Midget Car and fighting wheel-to-wheel with the likes of Tony Stewart and other top drivers. JP3 has learned how to drive and set up cars from his father and a number of other top midget car builders. Trey Hausmann started his snowmobile racing career in the winter of 1998 and placed third in the National Amateur Championship. In 2000, Trey was asked to join Team Arctic Cat and in 2002 the Arctic Cat Race Director asked him to move from the Junior and Sport classes to Semi-pro. This was an unprecedented move for a 16 year old. In the World Snowmobile Association (WSA) Snocross Circuit, Trey earned over 30 podium finishes. As a motocross rider, Trey has earned 14 podium finishes and in 2004 these accomplishments were recognized by a car owner who asked Trey to race his WISSOTA Pro Mod car. In this Pro Mod car, Trey earned two feature wins and several podium finishes. Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota will be the stage for young Hausmann's next steps as a driver. He and Johnny Parsons III will form a team that will drive two sprint cars, initially at the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minnesota as well as other tracks in the area. The two will also run USAC midgets in mid-western national events. For Hausmann, age 18, it is an opportunity to learn from a seasoned midget and sprint car driver and for Parsons a chance to help Trey as he pursues his career goals. Press releases are planned to keep fans informed of Trey's progress and there is the possibility of a televised segment on ESPN2 if television sponsorship develops.
