San Diego's Johnson, Duquesne's Bullock and Albany's Disch Highlight the 2005 NCAA 1-AA Mid-Major Football Gazette All-American Team

PR9.NET December 17, 2005 - WESTMONT, Illinois - School record-setting quarterback, Josh Johnson, from the University of San Diego, Duquesne University's all-time sack leader, Antoine Bullock, and the University at Albany's conference Player of the year, Colin Disch, headline the 2005 Don Hansen's Football Gazette NCAA 1-AA Mid-Major All-America team. San Diego's Jim Harbaugh, who led the Hawks to the NCAA Division 1-AA Mid-Major No. 1 ranking and an 11-1 record, was named Coach of the Year.

Johnson earned Offensive Back of the Year while Bullock garnered the Defensive Lineman of the Year Award and Disch is the defensive Linebacker of the Year. Junior Michael Caputo from Saint Francis (PA) University earned Offensive Receiver of the Year honors, while Michael Ford from Duquesne University received Defensive Back of the Year honors. Dayton's Ryan Winner claims the Offensive Lineman of the year award and Special Teams Player of the Year honors go to Ryan Feely from Jacksonville (FL) University.

Johnson, a sophomore, from Oakland, California, and a 2005 First Team All-PFL selection... led USD to an 11-1 record and the PFL championship... set school records for completions (260), TDs (36), passing yards (3,256), total offense (3,635) and completion percentage (70.1)... tossed 7 TDs at Valparaiso, all in 1st half... tossed 5 TDs vs. Morehead State in PFL Championship game, all in 1st half. Johnson also rushed for 379 yards on 86 carries (4.4 yards per carry) and scored four touchdowns.

Bullock, a senior, from Houston, Texas, finished his career as Duquesne's all-time sacks leader with 27.5 ... ranked among nation's leaders in sacks and fumbles forced all season ... totaled a team-high 12.0 sacks and team-best 17.5 tackles for loss ... also added four forced fumbled ... finished tied for second on the nation's No. 1 I-AA defense with 73 tackles from his defensive end spot ... 2005 first team All-MAAC.

Disch, a sophomore, from North Plainfield, New Jersey, is the 2005 Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year ... first-team All-NEC for the second consecutive season ... ranks 27 among the NCAA I-AA leaders in tackles at 10.18 per game ... made 100-plus tackles for the second straight fall ... posted double-figure hits in 17 of 22 games as a collegian ... tied the program's I-AA record with 18 tackles against Central Conn. State on Sept. 24 ... NEC Defensive Player of the Week twice ... 2004 Football Gazette I-AA Mid-Major All-American ... NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year ... In 2005 he finished with 112 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss (50 yards) with 4.5 sacks for minus -27 yards. His totals for the year also include one forced fumble, three pass breakups and one interception that he returned for 34 yards.

This marks the 13th year Don Hansen's Football Gazette, a recognized authority on small college football, has selected an NCAA 1-AA Mid-Major All-America team. A total of 81 players have earned some form of Football Gazette All-America accolades.
