The Art Institute of Tucson has joined Education Management's Art Institutes system of schools.

PR9.NET September 19, 2007 - TUCSON, Ariz. – Education Management LLC has renamed Tucson Design College as The Art Institute of Tucson. The Art Institute of Tucson, currently located at 1030 North Alvernon Way, has joined Education Management's Art Institutes system of schools.

The Art Institutes is a system of over 35 locations throughout North America, providing an important source of design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts professionals.

"As the newest member of The Art Institutes system of schools, The Art Institute of Tucson will offer culinary and design curricula that complement the demand for arts education in this region," says John Mazzoni, president of The Art Institutes. "We have a long history of preparing graduates to enter the culinary field and creative arts industries, and we look forward to delivering this quality educational experience to residents in the Tucson area."

Initially, The Art Institute of Tucson will offer Bachelor of Arts degree programs in Advertising, Culinary Arts, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Graphic Design, Interactive Media Design, Interior Design, and Media Arts & Animation; and Associate of Applied Science degree programs in Culinary Arts and Graphic Design.

"Our academic programs are selected to meet the growing needs of employers in the market we serve," says Karen Habblitz, newly appointed president of The Art Institute of Tucson. "The programs are taught by experienced faculty who share their practice with students, inspiring them to achieve their career goals."

Education Management acquired Tucson Design College in June 2007. The Art Institute of Tucson is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
