Getting married on the beach in Florida an economical yet romantic way to tie the knot.

PR9.NET December 15, 2008 - St Pete Beach, Florida - As the US economy continues to sputter, the absence of young couples with lots of discretionary income, combined with a weak US dollar, have one small niche market booming: Weddings on the Beach.

Intimate beach weddings, which can run as little as a few hundred dollars, have become wildly popular. Despite being economical, they are still viewed as romantic by most brides to be, and they can usually be combined with a honeymoon at little additional cost.

Claire Copeland, owner of Simple Treasures Photography in St Pete Beach, Florida, recently added complete wedding packages to her company's repertoire. "We had to adapt in order to fill the demand" she says. Copeland says planning the ceremony itself is actually second-nature to most wedding photographers, and that it actually enhances the couples' wedding pictures by giving the photographer more creative control over lighting, shadows, and layout.

Florida is a particularly economical destination for beach weddings, since it is easily accessible by car from the Southeastern US, and is relatively easy to get to for European visitors. "Our business is split about 60/40 in favor of visitors to the area versus locals" says Copeland, "and about 50/50 between the US and Europe". She says most European clients hail from the UK and Germany.
