Volunteers from to Support Uganda Hospital Redevelopment

Atutur hospital serves a rural community in Eastern Uganda. Because of financial difficulties, vandalism and the insurgency, the buildings equipment and services are inoperable or in a bad state of repair. Athletes from 81 local Special Olympics programs across the state have been invited to compete in the 2007 Special Olympics North Carolina Basketball & Cheerleading Tournament. The event is set to take place in Cabarrus County Feb. 23-25, and more than 800 volunteers are needed. Volunteers are need to fill positions as announcer, court assistant, venue support, volunteer registration and cheer team. Businesses, civic organizations, churches and youth groups are encouraged to get involved or form teams and be fans in the stands at the tournament! Interest?
