Proprietary "Build-to-Order" Technology Now Submitted for U.S. Patent
PR9.NET March 18, 2004 - ATLANTA, GA - DigitalSwift, the parent company of SwiftCD.com, announces the filing of a utility patent application on its uniquely created "Build-to-Order" process which enables a user to assemble a compact disc composed of user-selected contents while browsing a website. The provisional application was filed with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in 2002.
This technology is especially valuable for websites with large amounts of content, such as software programs or music, and who wish to let their customers build a custom CD from user-selected contents. Numerous file download and gaming sites already license the technology, and DigitalSwift expects to see the technology adopted widely into the world of online music stores, as well. The DigitalSwift build-to-order concept empowers consumers to design their own custom music CDs, instead of being limited to purchasing individual tracks or entire static fixed albums.
