Radius Engineering Inc. Announces its New P15 Fiberglass Shelter for Underground Protection from Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Threats
Radius Engineering International announces P15 Underground Bomb Shelter available in 2008. The P15 protects up to 15 occupants. The shelter was designed from military and commercial bomb shelter customization requests.
PR9.NET October 03, 2007 - Forney , TX - Radius Engineering Inc. announces its new P15 fiberglass underground shelter which is 70% bigger than the P10 (10 person shelter). The P10 underground shelter has been in service for more than 14 years. The P15 is bigger than a single car garage and almost 12 feet in diameter by over 27 feet long.
The P15 has in internal 1,000 gallon water tank under the floor that can be accessed by a manway from inside the shelter. Water volume is measured by an internal dip stick. With a battery bank of 24 batteries and plenty of storage, it is the biggest paraboloid underground shelter that can be transported down the road.
Military and commercial customers -- both domestic and foreign -- wanted a 15 person 40 psi shelter made of only two components: (1) a shelter component, and (2) an entranceway that could be transported by truck and boat, and be installed quickly.
The P15 has a floor with molded storage bays, sleeping area, kitchen, pressure water system, LED white lights, built in alcohol stove, shower, manual toilet, hydraulic hatch made of Radius Combat CompositeTM that operates by a remote transmitter so there is no lock for intruders to tamper with, moon shelves inside, double MCAS units (Multiple Chamber Air filtration System) and ample volume.
The P15 can be redeployed relatively easily. As are all Radius shelters, the P15 Underground Shelter is corrosion free. The shelter has little or no radar signature, thermal signature, or metallic signature. The all-composite structure does not collect EMP. It can be installed below the water table.
Life support ranges from 30 days to one year with the SCUPP (Self Contained Underground Power Plant).
After two years of development, advance orders are being taken for the P15 for delivery in early 2008. The P15 Military model is selling initially for $128,200. International deliveries will probably be given priority over domestic deliveries.
Walton McCarthy, company president and a mechanical engineer, wrote the shelter industry "bible": PRINCIPLES OF PROTECTION, The US Handbook of NBC Weapon Fundamentals and Shelter Engineering Standards, Fifth edition, 2002. The book was written with help from many technical government experts and written for the lay-person with numerous scientific references. This textbook has an outstanding chapter on "Myths" explaining why 30 days after a nuclear explosion, radiation levels are back to normal.
"Principles of Protection" explains that over 500 nuclear weapons have been tested as ground and surface bursts in the US , many in the megaton range, prior to the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963 and we are all still alive.
A US Defense Contractor, Radius Engineering has manufacturered over 1,000 shelters. Radius Engineering dominates the private, commercial, and military markets underground shelter markets. Radius Engineering ships underground shelters all over the world.
Although a major portion of the market is protecting key executives and employees, the best selling area for underground shelters is still Washington DC.
The US Department of Defense must approve all shelters shipped outside the United States and all customers in the US must sign a statement acknowledging that the shelters can not be resold for export.
