Romanelli condemns Bob Casey's efforts to silence liberals in PA Senatorial race

As the race for Rick Santorum's seat heats up, Romanelli provides the only liberal voice.
PR9.NET August 07, 2006 - Wilkes-Barre, PA — U.S. Senatorial Candidate Carl Romanelli condemns the oppressive efforts of Bob Casey to remove Romanelli from the ballot and squash the liberal resistance to the Casey campaign. Romanelli also denounces the vitriolic comments by Pennsylvania Democratic Committee Chairman T.J. Rooney.
"Bob Casey knows his campaign for Senator is weakening and is in danger of falling apart. He has ignored the liberal wing of the Democratic party and is now using his money and influence to keep the most important issues off the Ballot; such as ending the war in Iraq and maintaining a woman's right to choose. He wants to disenfranchise the liberal voters by taking me off the ballot. Casey knows our run for Senate threatens his fragile network," said Romanelli. "T.J. Rooney has been irresponsible in his name calling, he's a schoolyard bully and nothing more. His comments lately are ludicrous and unfounded."
An e-mail circulated last week by the Bob Casey for Pennsylvania Committee called for Democrats to evaluate and mount a challenge to the only liberal voice on the ballot in this election. This is a clue that Casey knows his position in the race is fragile and cannot hold onto the liberals he needs to win this election.
Romanelli added, "Bob Casey and the Democrats owe the voters of PA access to Mr. Casey's stand on issues coming from Mr. Casey's own mouth. Why is Bob Casey afraid to debate me?"
