Janet Long from District 51: A Soldier's Mom seeks public office
PR9.NET April 05, 2006 - Seminole, FL - 1st Lt. Paul Long is the eldest son of Janet and Richard Long. Lt. Long is an apache helicopter pilot serving on active duty in the United States Army. According to Janet Long, "We are so proud of our son's commitment to public service and his extraordinary sense of duty and responsibility to this country." Regardless of political viewpoints on the war in Iraq and other conflicts around the world Long is clear that supporting the military men and women of District 51, Florida, and the United States is the right thing to do.
This type of compassion and understanding is part of Long's decision to run for District 51 State Legislator. "Our community deserves an experienced, honorable, and independent legislator, who will work with both Republicans and Democrats for our best interests. I have been appointed by the past two Governors, one Democratic and one Republican, to serve on key state boards — including the State Tax Reform Task Force; and I was appointed three different times, by both Republican and Democratic State Treasurers, to serve as the state's Deputy Insurance Commissioner. It's time a fair and reasonable voice be heard."
