PR9.NET January 12, 2006 - LAKEWOOD, NEW YORK – Americans are faced with a coming tsunami of diverse problems, each of immense proportions in their own right. In his latest new book, Dr. Bradford Frank describes in detail the coming crises that Americans will have to deal with.
The major disasters of this century—the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 that killed 2,752 people; the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) global epidemic (pandemic) that spread like fire across the globe killing 800 people in 2003 and caused $100 billion in economic loses; the December 2004 tsunami that was caused by the second largest earthquake ever recorded and killed more than 150,000 people in Asia; and the August and September 2005 hurricanes Katrina and Rita, which caused hundreds of deaths and destroyed New Orleans and other towns and cities across the Gulf of Mexico—will be seen as minor events compared to the coming catastrophes we face in 2006 and beyond.
In Terror Unleashed, Dr. Frank discusses the most dangerous problems we face:
• Bird Flu (avian influenza): infectious disease experts now agree that it is only a question of when this dreaded disease will spread across the globe, killing untold millions of otherwise healthy individuals—just like the influenza pandemic that occurred in 1918. It could begin at any time. When the pandemic occurs, millions will die in a short period of time and the world will rapidly fall into economic recession, or even depression.
• Peak Oil: the simple law of supply and demand dictates that we will soon be using more oil than we can recover from the ground, especially with the Chinese and Indian economies expanding so rapidly. Over time, this will have increasingly negative consequences for the industrialized world, especially the United States.
• Terrorism: In spite of the claims of the Bush administration that we are winning the war on terrorism, we have yet to taste the full wrath of Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda. It is highly likely that a nuclear attack or an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack will be carried out against the United States with truly devastating consequences.
• Financial Crisis: Governmental spending outpaces revenues worldwide—it's apparently human nature. This is especially so in some countries, the United States included. The U.S. trade and structural deficits are monumental burdens that are now insurmountable. The only solution is more spending, followed by the consequential hyperinflation.
