PR9.NET February 18, 2005 - Dallas, TX - Mi-Co, the mobile data capture company, announced at the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition in Dallas that the company is introducing a vertical Solution targeted to home health agencies. The solution, Mi-Forms for Home Health, provides state-of-the-art digital ink capture, handwriting recognition technology and data quality checks geared toward the unique needs of home health and hospice agencies.

With customers providing the requirements, Mi-Co used its own Mi-Forms software development platform to rapidly go to market with a comprehensive data capture solution for home health.

Mi-Forms Home Health allows an agency to:

• Enhance standard or build new home health e-Forms for capturing data with handwriting input on the Tablet PC, the Digital Pen and other hardware platforms.
• Use the built-in data quality checks on the e-form regarding such items as patient signatures for meeting the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance regulations and identification of incorrect International Classification of Diseases (ICD) Codes.
• Send the verified data to backend systems used in the home health arena, which can be any system supporting HL7 (such as Horizon Healthware's Promise System).

Specific components of Mi-Forms Home Health will provide a solution for nurses and other healthcare professionals who capture data "on the go" and want to get that data into the system as quickly as possible. This will increase the time spent with patients (rather than doing paperwork), increase the quality of data and reduce the time to get that information into the system to meet Medicaid and Medicare payment requirements.
