"Downloading entertainment content is rapidly becoming a mainstream activity, but the ability to offer a build-to-order CD allows us to better serve customers with dial-up connections, those who select larger file size titles and anybody who just feels more comfortable with a physical disk back-up," said Gabe Zichermann, VP of Strategy and Communications for Trymedia Systems, Trygames’ parent company.

The Trial CD program is available today at CDs are created with a shopping-cart style interface while a customer browses the web site, selecting from more than 250 game titles. Each Trial CD is free (with a nominal shipping charge) and contains the custom selected software titles. All CDs are created and shipped within two business days after the order is placed.

Once a customer completes the full version game trials on his CD, he can choose to own the games he likes. An Internet connection is required for the purchase of any games. No Internet connection is required for trial gameplay, or for future gameplay once a customer owns the complete game. The trial functionality offered by Trygames is made possible by Trymedia’s patented ActiveMARK digital distribution technology. SwiftCD is providing the ‘burn to CD’ solution.
