The new Bell Globemedia deal is going to affect literally thousands of on-air and behind the scenes talent, but there is hope and are jobs for them at Voices.com.

PR9.NET July 12, 2006 - Toronto, Canada – Bell Globemedia has merged with CHUM to create one of the largest media conglomerates in Canada, also creating one of the largest lay-off issues in Canadian media history, costing more than a handful of Canadian talent their jobs.

Though Bell Globemedia may have severed ties with numerous broadcast talent and production staff, these professionals do have options available to them in the form of freelance work, both online and offline.

Voices.com, the voice marketplace, is inviting all former CHUM employees to signup at their website for a voice talent membership. Professionals can quickly create their own website, showcase on-camera and voice-over work and be contacted for job opportunities via email on their talent website at Voices.com. Talents are also searchable by keyword, location and abilities in addition to Featured Talent categories for television and radio professionals.

Voices.com CEO David Ciccarelli says, "We welcome all former CHUM employees to Voices.com where they can market their services and gain opportunities to find work. We they are their own bosses now, and we have the tools to help them build their own businesses."

Recently, Voices.com developed a Standard Rates Sheet to be used as a resource for quoting. This document is of considerable value to a talent who has been laid off and needs to start out from scratch. Community support is also available from professional voice talents who have made the transition from working at stations to performing freelance work full-time.
