Greaseman is skeptical that warning people about dangers on the dating scene would truly stop people from making foolish, financially and emotionally ruinous choices. Marshall agrees, but is providing a service, much as the author of a field guide on mushrooms points out the poisonous ones. The Dirty Seven Sisters are like Angel of Death mushrooms: Beautiful but deadly. If a person wants to get involved with one of them, that is his choice--with dire consequences guaranteed.
