D1 Music Releases New Version of Classic Disco Anthem
D1 Music releases Taborah and Darryl D'Bonneau's version of classic disco song, "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now". PR9.NET August 24, 2009 - New York, NY - D1 Music releases Taborah and Darryl D'Bonneau's version of classic disco song, "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now". Diva vocalist Taborah and R&B maestro Darryl D'Bonneau keep the D1 Music mantra of infusing dance floors with electrifying music alive with a hands-in-the-air remake of the McFadden & Whitehead disco classic, "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now". The song, featuring Grammy-nominated percussionist Sammy Figueroa and club remixes by Josh Harris, Solar City and D1 Music, releases to i-Tunes, Masterbeat.com and additional online retailers on Tuesday, September 15. "This new version of 'Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now is very timely," said Taborah from her recording studio in Ohio. "The song reminds us that through trying times like what we are experiencing today, there is hope. If we could come together as a people, there is nothing that we can't do." The 1979 McFadden & Whitehead original celebrated black liberation. Most recently, "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" was played at the acceptance speech on the night Barack Obama won the 2008 election for the President of the United States. "Thirty years after its original release, the fundamental theme of the song remains as strong as ever," declared Peter McLean of D1 Music, the label releasing the single. "Taborah and Darryl's version celebrates the struggles for equality we all face today, most specifically those of race, sexuality and religion." Taborah and Darryl hope to perform the song at the National Equality March in support of gay marriage, being held October 11 in Washington DC. "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" has been remade by several artists throughout the years, most notably by Luther Vandross in 1998. Taborah and Darryl make the song their own by raising the tempo, adding percussion, a funky bass line, and delivering powerful and inspirational vocals. The track is expected to be another smash in D1Music's already impressive line-up of hits. The label released Lisa Hunt's Top 5 Billboard hit "This Joint Is Jumpin", featured on the popular TV show, Queer As Folk. D1 Music also unleashed the critically acclaimed mixed compilation Mixpoint by John Rizzo and Club Christmas and Club Christmas 2 — remixed takes on holiday classics. Both Club Christmas albums hit the iTunes Top 50 Albums chart last year. This week, D1 Music (d1music.biz) announced plans to work with Taborah on a calypso-inspired follow-up to "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" titled "Say I Love You". Taborah will also record a Spanish-version of the track. # # # |
