WCPE General Manager to Serve on NCAB Board
WCPE General Manager Deborah Proctor has been elected to the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters. Proctor will serve as an affiliate director. PR9.NET June 19, 2008 - WAKE FOREST, N.C. - TheClassicalStation.org announced today General Manager Deborah S. Proctor has been elected to the board of directors of the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB). Proctor will serve as an affiliate director and will be responsible for representing the interests of non-commercial radio and TV members of the NCAB. "Deborah is an extraordinarily knowledgeable and creative broadcaster, and the state's broadcast industry is looking forward to her good counsel on the trade association's board of directors," said Wade Hargrove, general counsel and executive director to NCAB. "We are excited that she is joining the board." Proctor is a founder of WCPE 89.7 FM, TheClassicalStation.org. In the past 30 years, she has served as a representative for public radio interests with the U.S. Congress and the N.C. Department of Administration Division of Public Telecommunications Public Radio Advisory Committee. In addition, Proctor has been an active member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers since 1988, and is a founding member and current president of the North Carolina Public Radio Association. "The NCAB and its members have done so much to protect and serve the interests of North Carolina broadcasters," said Proctor. "I'm honored to serve alongside my peers on the board." NCAB is widely recognized as one of the top associations for broadcasters in the nation in terms of legislative victories, education, services, benefits and legal assistance. NCAB members are offered seminars to help strengthen their management skills by addressing topics such as advertising law, political broadcasting, license renewal, broadcast sales, First Amendment and news gathering law, media law and employment.
