The Little Memphis Blues Orchestra (with the help of a VERY "Special Guest") delivers some major 'blues, funk and soul' at this live performance, recorded on August 7, 2006.

PR9.NET December 26, 2006 - Birmingham, AL - The Little Memphis Blues Orchestra (LiMBO), once faced with possible extinction upon the American Idol win of their former leader, Taylor Hicks, has successfully regrouped and recorded their first on-location CD, "Live At The Workplay Theatre."

Recorded at Workplay on August 7, 2006 in the band's hometown of Birmingham, AL, this was just one of many stops made on their summer-long "After Idol" concert tour which shadowed American Idol's cross-country tour. Playing in smaller venues after the AI shows, LiMBO (with the occasional drop-in of a "special guest" from the Idol gig – and who does make his mark on this 2-Disc CD) rocked sold-out clubs with their tight delivery of R&B, funk and soul, including their take on both covers and original songs.

"An opportunity of this nature doesn't come along very often" states Dean Sanders, owner of FunkyTime Productions LLC. "This was something I knew must be documented, but at the time I didn't realize how important it would turn out to be. I booked LiMBO in at least 20 cities across the country that coincided with Taylor and the Idol tour. The show at Workplay represents what LiMBO's tour was all about. Given the fans' demand for LiMBO and the number of fans who were not in a position to come to an American Idol or LiMBO concert, recording history in Taylor and LiMBO's home base of Birmingham made perfect sense." Sanders goes on to say that "it was indeed a pleasure working with Tyler McGhee of Piqtu Multimedia. I believe that our shared vision is reflected in the final product."

As an independent release currently offered only through the band's Fan Forum (www.thelittlememphisbluesorchestra.com) the first run of both the CD and the soon-to-be-released DVD have already sold out, with a second production run currently in progress to meet demand.
