Are Your Children Safe?
Imagine having the consultants on your film being the families of the actual murdered children? Imagine knowing the man still responsible has not been caught? Perhaps "GASP" will help to change all that. Due to the numerous death threats against the production company and the families’ no further identifying information will be provided. PR9.NET February 21, 2005 - Beverly Hills, California - "Think about 'SEVEN': with Brad Pitt, though in reverse." says the film's director Sebastian Cross 'SEVEN', has its primary focus on the criminal --while our film centers on the family--how they deal with such a horror of a child going missing." Hence the title of the film--'GASP' since such a grave experience steals the breath from your core. Our HD feature length film addresses the abduction & subsequent murder of a 10 year old girl and its devastating aftermath on all those around her. While the story is fictionalized it is based on the truth. "GASP" also addresses that one moment, one second in your life when irrecoverable decisions are made and explores their appalling consequences. What if you had just given that little girl a ride home? It is that one tiny second that would have changed everything-a second that you can never get back. Allowing the film to ask in a more profound way "Who is responsible?' The tragedy of these cases is that little consideration is given to who the victims or the perpetrators REALLY are and the simple fact that the children are abducted for reasons of sex and power. Perhaps one might even surmise the predators in such instances are pedophiles that have become murderous. Yet the question never seems to get asked; WHO are these people and WHY is it such a pervasive issue in our world? Hollywood and the media typically focuses on the WHAT and not much else--there is no search for the truth--for understanding--a situation which dooms us to allow such events to reoccur for time infinitum. People themselves center on the killing itself and not on the fact that the child was molested, raped and tortured. What if you knew this is what happened to your child, your brother, your friend? Consider carefully: what did we learn about Kevin Spacey's character in 'SEVEN" or any of the victims for that matter? Imagine being in the audience and knowing they are a part of your family--in that regard "SEVEN" left you worse than empty. There will be no cynical twists rather it will be direct--asking every member of the audience 'What would you do if someone in your family went missing?' There are many out there whom are second guessing the families--the reality is--if it hasn't happened to you--you are in no position to judge. "GASP" says be certain of nothing. Beyond everything the film is to honor the families, the victims, the survivors rather than giving the glory to the killers, the rapists and their crime. An all important voice that has gotten lost in so much static is now found. Let this be "SEVEN'S", unofficial "EIGHT" A board and open search for our cast will be held in Beverly Hills, the center of it all in California. We open the doors to find the most caring people that we can. There will be an A, B and C set up shot in a very Robert Altman style--wheel chair shots--shopping cart shots--the realness and the rawness of such footage is especially applicable here. 'We know this will be a powerful film,' says Producer Gael Connors. 'The script is raw and gritty and true--it had to be, even though its not based on any one person or incident, much of the events have happened to real people. It's the kind of project you yearn for as you know it's something that has meaning and significance.'
