DIY Craft diva Nicole Yost to lead 'How to Make Money from Arts & Crafts' class

PR9.NET June 21, 2006 - San Diego, CA -- DIY Craft diva Nicole "Rattlesnake" Yost has a message for fellow craftsters: you can do what you love, and make money doing it. Her "How to Make Money from Arts and Crafts" class teaches artisans and crafters from all walks of life the brass tacks of how to do just that. Students in her class, hosted by the Learning Annex (www.learningannex.com), will learn the basics of selling at consignment shops, street fairs, and in the lucrative online marketplace. Other topics include:

* How to uncover the hidden marketplaces for handcrafted items
* How to sell crafts online – even if you don't have a website
* Tips and tricks for selling at craft shows and other in-person events
* Pricing for profit
* Licenses, taxes and other business requirements
* How to advertise and promote products for free
* How to accept credit cards
* How to make repeat sales

Nicole Yost, who has jokingly been called "the Punk Rock Martha Stewart," knows all about crafty businesses. A regular fixture of the DIY scene, she is the founder of the Bad Girls of Craft, a founding member of the San Diego Craft Mafia, and the organizer of the Punk Rock Craft Fair. In addition to making and selling a variety of crafty creations under the name Snakebite Designs, she also sells her own line of oddball rubber stamps at www.AstaArts.com .

The "How to Make Money from Arts & Crafts" class with Nicole Yost will be held in June and July San Diego. To enroll, please visit www.learningannex.com or enroll by phone at (619) 544-9700.
