eSafeLine releases GateWall proxy server 3.1, a powerful Internet connection sharing tool.
eSafeLine announces new release of GateWall proxy server, an easy-to-use, yet highly functional tool for connecting local network to the Internet and controlling users activities. Being an extension of version 3.0, which won only positive customer feedback, GateWall 3.1 has expanded its capabilities and contains new features which make it more powerful and convenient. PR9.NET September 01, 2005 - GateWall proxy server is an Internet-management tool designed to connect local network users to the Internet. The application provides a centralized control over Internet connections, bandwidth, time online; automates daily routines such as calculation of consumed traffic, client reporting and billing. For example, without any human intervention, the program can shift the user billing plan from regular to special, based on the web addresses visited, date, or specified time; it can restrict Internet access based on the users time online, traffic limits for a day or month, IP-addresses, URL strings, or specified traffic speed limits. The administrator can view a detailed status of active session for each user - including IP address, user name, bytes sent or received, and visited URLs. By setting URL filtering policies, the administrator can restrict the user access to irrelevant websites, set up ad-filters and expose company bandwidth abuse. GateWall can send users emails with detailed Internet usage statistics at regular time intervals. GateWall includes statistics module that allows making various reports on Internet usage and exporting them to MS Excel format. Among other useful features are: Network Address Translation (NAT), various user authorization methods, port mapping, resource publishing (provides Internet access to local network resources), HTTP resources caching, remote administration (which makes the network administrator highly mobile), and many others. Featuring an intuitive, well-designed interface, GateWall can be used by beginners as well as advanced users. According to Alexander Levchenko, the CEO of eSafeLine, "In version 3.1 we concentrated on expanding the capabilities of the product, enabled socks proxy cascading, revised HTTP proxy implementation, enhanced the NAT driver and user interface as well as added the possibility to limit the maximum size of the downloaded files. In future releases of GateWall we plan to include firewall server, Virtual Private Network (VPN) support, SIP proxy for IP telephony handling, and embedded Kaspersky Antivirus, a very popular antivirus software. What's important is that all the upgrades up to version 4.0 are free for our customers." Pricing and Availability. GateWall 3.1 runs under all Windows OS and priced starting at $65 (USD), depending on the number of users. Registered customers are entitled to free updates and lifetime technical support. A fully functional evaluation version of the program is available for free at http://gatewall.com/download/gatewall_setup.exe. # # #
