Move2open, a leading provider of data migration and application conversion solutions, today announced the general availability of its automated suite of conversion tools. Move2open already has a client base, inherited from the Oxford-based company BITbyBIT. Move2open was established to focus on legacy transformation, and in particular the needs of companies converting from CA-IDEAL to open languages such as COBOL and Java, and migrating from CA-DATACOM to open databases such as Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server. Move2open brings a level of automation, platform cover and accuracy to the conversion process that is unmatched by any other product or service available today.

PR9.NET August 17, 2005 - The need to maximize ROI from IT, and to increase systems flexibility to meet the demands of changing business processes, is leading to renewed interest in obtaining value from legacy systems. Move2open solves many of the major issues associated with legacy applications, including high running costs and the scarcity of the skill set required to service them.

Move2open offers companies the possibility to convert efficiently and accurately in a highly automated way, says Huw Price, Managing Director of Move2open, "Companies have traditionally balked at the prospect of manual conversion or code re-writes. Projects are potentially open-ended, and the quality of converted code is often seen as questionable." Move2open offers an alternate solution explains Huw, "Move2open takes a low risk, modest investment approach, which is up to four times less costly than rewriting code, in situations where implementing a packaged application is simply out of the question as it doesn't meet critical business requirements."

Move2open currently has 12 converted applications in production at major organizations around the world, which amounts to millions of lines of active converted code. Wide experience of source and target environments has enabled Move2open to refine its automated solutions through use. Move2open has been established by data management experts with over 30 years of application conversion experience collectively, to produce a conversion toolkit that reduces the risks and timeframes for converting legacy applications.
