SKY launches the World's Fastest PC at Gitex Technology Week 2007
Deriving computing power from Intel's latest Quad Core processor, NVIDIA's SLI Technology and built using the fastest components available today, the "Annihilator" sets a new world record in benchmarks for Desktop PCs. PR9.NET September 07, 2007 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates: SKY, the leading Middle East systems integrator and distributor of best-in-class global technology brands, today set a record in the PC Industry by announcing the launch of the World's fastest PC – the "Annihilator" at Gitex Technology Week 2007. SKY's latest innovation was built by focusing on fastest, latest and extreme editions of the PC Series keeping in mind the region's PC enthusiasts and hardcore gamers. The new Annihilator PC will take the lead in making Dubai a launch pad for all future fastest PCs in the world and will compete with world class brands to maintain its position as the first fastest PC in the market designed using the fastest PC components available to date and deliver to do exactly what its name suggests – annihilate the competition. The Annihilator runs on Intel's Quad Core QX6850 processor running at a clock speed of 3.0-Ghz, and accompanies NVIDIA's 8800 Ultra graphics cards in SLI mode, for the extra "boom" and "crash" in today's game titles. The Annihilator's high-end configuration helps ensure even faster and smoother performance when running the latest games and other demanding applications independently or simultaneously. The PC also provides a blockbuster performance, which is not matched by any other PC on the market. "SKY has created the ultimate dream machine for PC Enthusiasts. The experience on the Annihilator is second to none on the market today, while its performance is a class apart," explains Mr. Manoj Thacker, Managing Director, SKY Electronics. "We also took a radically different approach to the whole out-of-box experience—including the components used in the PC, which gamers have come to expect from high-end gaming machines." Going by the continuing growth of the regional computer gaming market, which has been fueled by the introduction of superior gaming concepts, SKY is extremely upbeat about the new Annihilator series of ultimate gaming PCs and is sure that it will be extremely well received within the region. "We have taken the fastest components available today, water-cooled them and have made them run even faster" says Thacker. "The Annihilator PC features two Western Digital Raptor drives set in RAID0 configuration for blazing fast speed as well as a RAID5 array of 1.5TB for the user's data." Thacker, explains that not only speed is important but more so the data. "That is the reason we have used RAID5 technology for storing the users' videos, pictures and documents, to ensure that they don't lose them," he adds. Besides providing the fastest gaming experience and data backup, the Annihilator also comes equipped with a Blu-Ray drive and Creative's X-Fi Fatal1ty edition sound card, which allows gamers to enjoy the latest High Definition movies in all their audio and video glory. For gamers obsessed with the ultimate immersive entertainment experience, the Annihilator enables enhanced physics, AI, rendering an overall gameplay. Meanwhile, multimedia enthusiasts working with applications that depend on threaded computing, such as audio/video editing or 3D modeling, will also see greater performance. In addition, all users will benefit from a quieter and cooler computing environment thanks to the new water-cooled cooling system in the PC. "The idea behind the Annihilator is to provide the best experience for the end-user – whether they are playing games, working on their documents or enjoying the latest movie in high-definition. Like Dubai, we are also setting up new standards today," concludes Thacker on a high note. # # #
