ImageStream's Envoy 1U router features additional chassis ports, power options

PR9.NET June 26, 2007 - INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Solutions4ebiz, the exclusive Midwest distributor and online retailer for ImageStream Internet Solutions (ImageStream), announced today the availability of a new business router, the Envoy 1U. The Envoy 1U, based on ImageStream's original Envoy router design, adds rackmount capability, support for more ports per chassis, and additional power options.

Like ImageStream's original Envoy router, positioned as a low-cost router for small- to medium-sized businesses and ISPs, ImageStream designed the new Envoy 1U to route up to two T1/E1 or synchronous serial interfaces at line speed.

"Our customers asked us to produce a low-cost rackmount T1/E1 router with CALEA intercept support that costs less than the other low-cost 1U routers on the market, and the new Envoy 1U delivers on all of these requirements," said ImageStream President J.C. Utter.

The new Envoy 1U is bigger than the original Envoy, and fits in the standard rack containing 1U of available rack space. The larger chassis also provides more space for back panel connectors, so it can support up to two HD26 connectors for synchronous serial ports, and up to three LAN or WAN modules that use modular connectors such as RJ48 for T1/E1 and RJ45 for Ethernet. The Envoy 1U also includes space to mount optional DC-DC converters, so users can convert the chassis' native support for 5 to 12 VDC power from 24 or -48 VDC.

The base Envoy 1U router includes:

• Fanless 266 MHz CPU
• 128 MB RAM
• Dual 10/100 Ethernet ports
• Support for ImageStream's low-cost line of T1/E1 and synchronous serial WAN cards
• ImageStream Linux router distribution
• Available extended temperature version

The base Envoy 1U retails for $799, and can be bundled with one T1/E1 or sync serial port for $999 or two T1/E1 or sync serial ports for $1,299. The system includes two hours of technical support during business hours, which customers can upgrade to unlimited business hours support for three years with the standard Extended Service Plan (ESP).

Customers can order the Envoy router, along with other Linux routers and hardware solutions, 24/7/365 at To request an Envoy 1U product information sheet, email, or call toll-free: 877-666-3249. Solutions4ebiz stocks the most popular inventory for faster delivery time, and provides customer support for the Linux routers and hardware products.
