WSI Web Science sponsors CO2Stats to offset the carbon footprint of the company's website. WSI Web Science will offer carbon footprint offsets to all website design clients.
PR9.NET January 06, 2010 - Raleigh, NC – WSI Web Science announced today that the company's Internet marketing consultancy website is now green certified. The website is Green Certified by CO2Stats. CO2Stats calculates the combined electricity used by computers visiting WSIWebScience.com, the WSI Web Science servers, and the networks that connect them. CO2Stats then helps to make the website more energy efficient (and load faster), and purchases renewable energy to neutralize the carbon emissions due to generation of that electricity.
"Obtaining green certification for our company website is an important milestone as we continue our efforts to be outstanding corporate citizens," said Don Crouse, a Partner at WSI Web Science. "We believe green or renewable energy use is important to US security, the economy and the environment. As the Internet continues to grow it has become a significant contributor to overall energy usage. As a website development and Internet marketing consultancy we are uniquely positioned to build green websites. Today we started with our own website. Moving forward WSI Web Science will offer Green Certification to all new and existing clients."
By clicking on the Green Certificate logo from CO2Stats on the WSI Web Science website, visitors can see live reports on the site's CO2 emissions. To offset the carbon footprint, CO2Stats purchases EPA-endorsed certificates showing that WSI Web Science is effectively powering the website with renewable energy from wind and solar farms.
