iVersity, LLC launches new social networking site to provide valuable tools for educators and students working in virtual environments.

PR9.NET December 08, 2008 - Kansas City, Missouri - It was announced today that iVersity, LLC has launched EduGrid, a new social networking platform which is to provide many valuable tools to Universities and other educational institutions who currently have or are looking to create a presence in virtual environments such as the popular online platform Second Life.

EduGrid currently offers a wide range of features which one might find on popular social networking sites, however, the emphasis on education technology will without a doubt offer a unique experience to its members. The ability to search for and organize friends, create and join groups, create blogs, and much more is already fully available, with integrated services such as fully-hosted learning management systems, artificial intelligence/pedagogical agents, and custom simulation software in progressive development.

"At iVersity, we feel there are missing links in accelerated learning processes which can be solved through proper application of technology." said Josh Garrett, Partner and co-founder of iVersity.

iVersity is also nearing completion with version 2.0 of its web presence, and will soon offer many more valuable resources to its clients and developers. This comes as development of a major phase of GeoWorlds, geosciences simulation located in Teen Second Life as part of a grant provided to the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Kansas State, by the Kauffman Foundation, nears its completion.
