PR9.NET April 03, 2008 - Glasgow, UK - The event titled 'Sowing the Seeds of Change' will feature a number of influential industry leaders and media commentators who will deliver a series of keynote sessions– all focussing on the topic of IT and the Environment.

Sarah Haran, Managing Director, iomart stated: "The subject of Green IT is very much on the corporate agenda and that being 'seen to be green' is considered desirable from a brand perspective. Yet we all know that our data centres are not the most environmentally friendly buildings on the block and that in reality they never will be. But that should not prevent us from actively attempting to reduce the impact that our industry has on the environment."

"We are hoping that this event will provide a platform for some thought provoking debate on the areas that the IT industry should be looking to address, identifying the priorities and the low hanging fruit. The focus for Green IT appears to be power related at the moment but that should not preclude us from considering every avenue from virtualisation techniques through to the procurement process." Sarah added.

The event will be held in the Wembley Suite, Wembley Stadium on Wednesday 25th June between 10.00am and 15.00 pm. Refreshments and Luncheon will be provided. There will be no charge for attending the event but admission will be by ticket only.
