Web Design Services from Fusionbox Help Honor Memory of Mount Everest Sherpas who Lost Their Lives
Fusionbox Donates Website to the Sherpa Memorial Foundation. PR9.NET March 27, 2008 - Denver, Colorado – Fusionbox, a leading Denver interactive agency specializing in search engine marketing (SEM), user-centric web design, and custom web development, is proud to announce the launch of SherpaMemorialFoundation.org. The website promotes the mission of the Lhapka Tseri Sherpa and Dawa Temba Sherpa Memorial Foundation to provide aid to the Sherpa community and the families of the Sherpas who lost their lives in a tragic accident on Mount Everest's Khumbu Icefall in April 2006. On April 3rd, 2008, Alan "Lanny" Anderson, a member of the foundation's Board of Directors and Partner at at the Denver law firm of Rothgerber Johnson and Lyons LLP, will embark on a trek on behalf of the foundation. "It's truly an honor to be a part of this mission and I look forward to meeting the families and members of the Sherpa community to distribute the funds raised," notes Anderson. Anderson's trek is the second effort on behalf of the foundation to provide funds. The bulk of the first distribution, made in December of 2007, was made to build a teahouse on the trail to Mt. Everest with the goal of providing a stable annual income for families in the area. Anderson's trek will begin in a Nepalese village called Lukla, then he'll walk to the villages to make the distributions, hiking in elevations ranging from 9,000 at Lukla to 17,800 feet at Base camp. Fusionbox is one of several sponsors whose generosity is making Anderson's trip possible. "We're excited to help bring a web presence to Lanny's trek. Our goal was to create a website to showcase the efforts of everyone involved and provide a vehicle by which the foundation could communicate with donors, members of the media, the general public, and with those that benefit from the funds raised. This web design project is a tremendous opportunity to connect communities a half a world apart and I'm glad that Fusionbox could play an important role in providing this resource," remarks Fusionbox President, Alexander Groth. The foundation was created to honor the memories of Lhapka Tseri Sherpa and Dawa Temba Sherpa, who perished in a tragic accident on Mount Everest's Khumbu Icefall in April 2006. The Sherpas were working as guides for Team No Limits, a Colorado-based climbing expedition, that traveled to Nepal in hopes of reaching the summit of Mount Everest. Beginning April 3rd, Lanny Anderson will be making distributions of funds raised through the non-profit to the recipients selected by the Board of Directors.
