Chris McElroy t/a Namecritic and articlecontentprovider dot com has been part of a scam which involves taking deceptive measures to persuade both content buyers to part with their money, and also to persuade writers that they will be paid fairly, and on time, to later find out that this is not the case.

PR9.NET August 23, 2007 - London, UK - An article content provider - article content provider dot com -- has been accused of both stealing copyright from his freelance writers and also of failing to deliver content to his clients as promised. The consumer watchdog revealed that much of the buyers marketing tactics actually involve promoting his reputation, and leveraging this to lour buyers in -- and writers. He claims to have been on the web for 12 years and to have developed an untarnished reputation during this time.

The news comes on the back of a new fund which is being privately financed to help people who have been scammed by namecritic to get their money back. The fund will be there as a means of helping both writers that have had their copyright violated and also to help clients that have been scammed, having paid for work and not received it.

The company -- Article Content Provider -- charges clients and often sells them content which is either written by people who do not speak native English, or in many cases is never delivered at all - while the company maintains that it was sent. This tactic is very hard to overcome, explained consumer rights spokesman Charles Johnson: "From what I have heard of his behaviour, if you pay by paypal or credit card then you should be okay. However, if you pay him by check or bank transfer then he really does have the upper hand. That is why this fund has been put in place - it is one of the only ways that people will be able to get their money back if they do not have the money to take Chris McElroy to court."

Consumers and writers that are have been ripped off have set-up a blog this week, which they intend to use as a means of getting their message across about the individual experiences that they have had. The blog -- http://namecriticscam.wordpress.com/ -- is a meduim where by writers and clients can post their concerns and share experiences of how they have been cheated. They also claim that setting the blog up was a way that Chris McElroy could respond to criticism if he wanted to.
