PR9.NET January 13, 2012 - Riverhead, NY - Congressman Tim Bishop from New York's 1st Congressional District took time out of his busy beginning-of-the-year district work period to visit the buncee.com headquarters in Riverhead, NY, Tuesday, January 2, 2012. As a startup creative sharing website, buncee provides users with a new option for online communication. By incorporating multi-media content (text, photos, video, images, online content, and more) into one easy and effective messaging platform, buncee offers a unique way to share with friends, family, and colleagues via email, social networks, and buncee's own network.
During Congressman Bishop's January 2, 2012 visit, buncee.com's CEO, Marie Arturi, and her team, many of whom hail from local colleges including Stony Brook University, Suffolk County Community College, and others, gave the Congressman a tour of the buncee.com headquarters and a demonstration of the start-up's latest technology advancements.
"I applaud buncee.com for taking advantage of homegrown talent from computer science programs at local colleges to build their business here on Long Island," said Congressman Tim Bishop. "I was very impressed by my tour of buncee.com's office and commend their commitment to employing Long Islanders and diversifying our economic base."
As a sign of the strong year ahead for buncee.com, on the morning of the Congressman's visit, four of buncee's iPad apps: buncee Pro, buncee Free, buncee Mom and buncee Dad hit the Apple iTunes "What's Hot" list again. The company also comes off a strong fourth quarter of 2011 with a number of positive reviews from online tech reviewers for its apps for iPad and iPhone, known as buncee Pocket.
Buncee.com's unique ties to, and support of, the North Fork based not-for-profit foundation, the Daniella Maria Arturi Foundation, was also a highlight for Congressman Bishop's visit, given his longtime support for the Foundation's efforts to increase awareness and research for children and families living with the rare bone marrow failure disorder, Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Buncee.com CEO Marie Arturi recently received the Outstanding Service Award for her role as Executive Director of the Daniella Maria Arturi Foundation at the American Society of Hematology conference before nearly 10,000 hematologists and researchers in San Diego on December 11, 2011. During one of her talks, she shared how the origin of buncee.com developed from her years running the Foundation.
"As one of the few, if not only, internet start-up companies on the North Fork, we are really very proud of the strong local connections that have fueled the national and global success of buncee.com in such a short period of time." said Marie Arturi, adding, "We've already seen over 242,000 visits to the site in the last 2 months alone. Needless to say, we're very excited about what the New Year will bring."
