Free resources help IT executives proactively ensure that their systems are prepared for the DST date changes that begin on 11 March 2007.
PR9.NET February 16, 2007 - Farmington, CT – Argent Software, Inc., today announced that it is providing free resources for IT executives concerned about the imminent changes to Daylight Saving Time (DST) and the effects on their computer systems. The resources can be found on a new website, http://DST.Argent.com, which contains information to help IT executives proactively ensure their systems are prepared for the DST date changes dictated by the United States Energy Policy Act of 2005.
In 2007, DST will begin three weeks earlier and will end one week later than in previous years. If no action is taken prior to 11 March 2007, many important productivity applications may be impacted. Crucial data such as meeting times and e-mail date stamps could be altered. Additionally, scheduled computing tasks may repeat unnecessarily or risk being skipped altogether. Argent's new DST website provides information that helps IT managers proactively avoid these issues. The site also contains a free test utility program, Argent Check, to help assess whether servers are ready to support the new definition of Daylight Saving Time.
"Argent's products were tested and found to be bulletproof to the DST changes, but many of our customers were in the dark about how to update their operating systems and applications," stated Andrew Blencowe, President and CEO of Argent. Blencowe added, "Since we had accumulated all these resources while testing in our own facilities, we decided to share the information with the world."
