European airlines extend contract with IBS
Spanish airline Iberworld and Italian airline Blue Panorama have extended their contracts for the use of TopAir, an airline flight operations system. The contracts were signed with Avient Solutions, IBS' Global Centre of Excellence for Flight Operations operating out of London. PR9.NET August 23, 2005 - According to Mr. Jose Luis Cardona, IT and Quality Director at Iberworld, 'Avient has provided us with excellent service. Their support has enabled us to successfully integrate our other IT systems with TopAir.' Iberworld has been successfully using TopAir for the last four years, and have now opted to continue with the system for another three years. Avient has provided extensive support to Iberworld in integrating its IT systems and building complex crew rules into TopAir which has resulted in an error-free environment and a reduction in both manual effort and redundancy. In 2005, Avient built an Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) interface, which provides flight operations with real-time flight information. According to Mr. Pecci, President - Blue Panorama, "With TopAir implemented in my airline, it allows me to get real-time information wherever I am. The flexibility of TopAir has proved its worth to me and my airline." Blue Panorama currently uses TopAir to manage its flight scheduling, flight operations and crew management processes and has extended their contract for a further five years. Since implementing TopAir in 2000, Blue Panorama has increased its fleet from five to eleven aircraft, and with TopAir in place, it has resulted in a problem-free period of growth for the airline. Communication costs have been reduced and unnecessary expenditure has been curtailed. TopAir automates airline operations that include flight scheduling, fleet planning, crew management, flight operations, fuel management, catering management, aircraft checks planning and finance control activities. An integrated solution that avoids data redundancy, and provides real-time information across various departments in the airline, TopAir makes operations easier for scheduled, charter, low-cost and cargo airlines. With ten airlines using TopAir currently, the product has garnered a significant market share in the European airline market. IBS has further developed TopAir after acquiring it from EDS (Electronic Data Systems), to ensure that all critical functionality with regard to flight operations in an airline is addressed, and has customised it for different global market regions. The product is available in different database versions to suit clients' needs, with airlines having the choice to migrate from one version to the other. Among TopAir's other customers are Farnair (an alliance of European Cargo airlines), Darwin Airline (Switzerland), Windjet (Italy), Hello AG (Switzerland), ItAli (Rome), Alpi Eagles (Italy), Swiss (Switzerland) and First Choice Airlines (UK). Having established itself in Europe, IBS is now aggressively moving to market TopAir in the Middle East, USA and the Asia-Pacific markets. # # #
