IPF Incorporated, an extruder of thermo form roll stock, is now offering PET roll stock manufactured 100% from reclaimed plastic bottles. FDA approved material is also available biodradable and compostable. Excellent performance characteristics and low cost are some of the advantages over traditional materials as well as other eco friendly alternatives.

PR9.NET November 29, 2008 - Toronto, Canada - IPF Inc., an extruder of specialty films for thermo form packaging applications is now producing material made 100% from reclained and reprocessed plastic water, juice, soda and sports drink bottles. Since 8 out of 10 plastic bottles currently end up in landfills, and the average person discards 166 plastic bottles annually, this new eco friendly alternative offers significant environmental benefits without increased costs.

Also available biodegradable and compostable, ECO-THERM BD will biodegrade into carbon dioxide and water when discarded in any environment where there is continuous microbial activity such as landfills, industrial or home compost facilities or natural bodies of water. Time needed for full aerobic or anaerobic biodegradation varys from nine months to five years depending on environment.

FDA approval, high clarity, good strength, crack resistance and absence of handling or storage concerns allow ECO-THERM to be well suited for most food and non-food applications. Competitive cost and environmental benefits including lowering of the carbon footprint and improving packaging scorecards make this material an attractive replacement to traditional materials such as PVC, OPS and APET. MAterial is also recyclable and will not negatively effect existing recycling streams.

Wide range of sizes, gauge, colors and coatings contribute to efficient production of clamshells, trays, containers and blisters. Flexible lead times and production runs allow for customers' quick introduction into the marketplace.

Also being offerred are "Closed Loop" programs where returned plastic drink bottles are reclaimed and reprocessed into material and packaging for the company or institution returning the bottles.
