The 2008 Ford Taurus is powered by a new 3.5-liter, 24-valve, V-6 engine that produces 260 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission (AT) and an all-wheel-drive take it from zero to 60 mph in just 7.6 seconds. Taurus offers 41 safety features out of which 36 are standard, including vehicle stability control, electronic stability systems and six air bags. This family sedan by Ford has been rated as the safest full-size car in the USA.

Ford's Taurus X is the new name of Ford Freestyle. Along with a new name this crossover comes with a number of new features. The interior is luxurious and high-tech with leather-trimmed first- and second-row seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and a DVD-based navigation system. The hood is restyled with pueblo gold-painted body side and 18-inch bright aluminum wheels with five spokes. With a 3.5L Duratec V-6 engine generating 263 horsepower plus 249 lb-ft of torque, the Taurus X delivers an EPA estimated 16 miles per gallon in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Latest safety features have earned Taurus X the "Top Safety Pick" rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and also the government's highest five-star rating in crash tests.
