Home and office PC system consultants at Durk's Works offer service package to improve security and speed on home computers.

PR9.NET February 25, 2008 - Grandville, MI - Air-tight security and blazing speed are the highlights of a new service package for home personal computers introduced today by Durk's Works, a Grandville firm that offers expert consultation on home and office systems.

"Our new home PC service package focuses on four critical components that protect your computer and make it run at its top speed," said proprietor Durk Piersma. "These are key elements in the operating system and application software that are easily overlooked by most home PC users, yet are often exploited by hackers so they can get control of your machine."

Hackers frequently want to control home PCs so they can use them for remote-controlled Internet attacks designed to break into large corporate or government computer systems, Piersma said. "The scary part is that you may not even know it's going on until after the attack is already over. And you never know what else a hacker is going to do while they have control of your machine. Even the most private and valuable information can be lost or stolen and used. Identity theft is only one example of the potential vulnerabilities home PC users can face."

The new Durk's Works home PC service package closes holes that may exist in the computer's operating system, its security software, and key program software. The package also tunes the computer so it will consistently run at its top speed. "Home systems can easily get bogged down, and it can happen so slowly that you may not notice it until your machine has finally slowed down to a crawl," Piersma said. "Our tune-up will restore it to its initial speed and help you keep it running efficiently over the life of the machine."

The service package sets up the machine with automated maintenance functions so new vulnerabilities don't develop. Owners are also briefed on keeping the machine secure with minimal effort.

The package is a proprietary set of procedures developed over 24 years of work with PCs, Piersma said. Durk's Works has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of computer security and secure internet access. The firm specializes in computer troubleshooting, set-up, clean-up and consulting. Durk's Works also sets up and maintains small office Ethernet and wireless networking computer systems.
