PR9.NET September 02, 2005 - Stockton Infrared Thermographic Services, Inc., (SITS) one of the USA's leading providers of infrared (IR) thermographic services, announces the acquisition of an Indigo Phoenix large format camera. The Phoenix imaging system will be utilized by SITS to conduct scientific research, study building processes and perform aerial infrared inspection services.

SITS was founded by Gregory R. Stockton in 1989 and has innovated many infrared applications. The company has grown to include seven application-specific service divisions: ProcessSCAN™, ElectriSCAN™, CompuSCANIR™, MechaniSCAN™, BuildScanIR™, AITscan™ and IRresearcher™.

"Our goal has always been to provide the highest quality infrared services available," states Mr. Stockton, company CEO, "and to develop applications of infrared thermography which will provide customers with the highest level of value. This investment will facilitate us in that endeavor."

The high performance Phoenix system purchased by SITS offers exceptionally high resolution (640 X 512 pixels-a total of 327,680 elements). With a cryogenically-cooled Indium Antimonide detector, the spec performance is < 25 milliKelvin sensitivity. Features include a broad dynamic range and high-speed data acquisition, utilizing the 14-bit RS-422 digital output connector on the RTIE (real-time imaging electronics). The Phoenix can feed continuous digital data at 14.75 megapixels per second into a PC for recording and analysis.

"We ordered all the bells and whistles, microscope, wide-angle and telephoto options and then we custom-designed the control system to be portable." states Mr. Stockton, "We will be able to take this lab-type camera system into the field to perform many different infrared applications."
