CalDocs Increases Forms Processing Capability in Satellite Scan Station Software

PR9.NET January 13, 2005 - Irvine, CA - CalDocs, a leading provider of record center solutions, announces 2005 support for additional medical forms in its Satellite Scan Station (SSS) software. The new Health Services version of the SSS, to be released in January 2005, will add support for additional medical forms including UB-92, HCFA 1450, CMS 1500 billing forms.

In addition to the three new forms included in the Health Services package of the SSS, a customized clinical cover sheet for patient clinical file jackets can be used and proprietary forms are available upon request. The Health Services version is designed to provide all the tools necessary for the Administrator or Records Center Manager to convert medical billing and clinical reports to easily searchable electronic images.

"CalDocs imaging software comes as a complete suite of tools to provide all imaging tasks required for the records manager." Says John Ermoian, President of The California Document Company (CalDocs), "In addition to scanning, QA and conventional indexing templates, SSS software now allows specific forms recognition and specific fields within the preprinted form to be captured and automatically populated into the file's database."

Using its powerful OCR engine, SSS is designed to read specific areas on the supported forms to insure a 98% acceptance rate for most fields. All images processed by the SSS are automatically ported to the CalDocs secure data warehouse for online sharing, viewing, faxing or printing. All data warehouse servers use the CalDocs Records Manager II software and are trusted (Verisign®), secure and private.

Support for the new forms for electronic medical record management services will begin this month, additional forms and utilities for health services will be continually developed to keep clients current with the needs of the industry.
