With a new airport approved for the southern region of Costa Rica investors are scrambling for postion.

PR9.NET July 18, 2008 - Ojochal, Costa Rica - It is expected that Costa Rica's newest international airport, scheduled to open in 2010, will be the key to unlocking the tourism and development potential of this country's southern coast. Right now, the area where the new airport is planned is only accessible to mass tourism via a four-to-five-hour drive from San Jose.

The planned airport is to be built about 20 minutes from Ventana del Pacifico, one of Costa Rica's largest private developers. Also located about three miles south of the city of Palmar Sur in the Sierpe Valley. With lush jungled mountains looming over long, pristine stretches of beach, this area is ripe for growth. With twenty years in the area Ventana del Pacifico is nestled near Costa Rica's most romantic and jaw-dropping beaches. Soon to be peppered with tourist resorts and residential complexes this area will remain beautiful as well as profitable for the locals and the ex-pats…but such is the price of progress. The government has every intention to keeps its eco-values front and center on this one.

The airport is planned to open in stages; the first, in 2010, will allow international flights with a maximum capacity of 50 passengers. Eventually, plans are to have a runway capable of accommodating even the world's largest passenger plane, the Airbus A-380.

Although the first stage of the airport is still a ways from completion, investors are jumping in early to buy real estate while prices are still relatively low. Once the airport is completed and the wave of tourism begins, developers eager to cash in will no doubt send property values skyrocketing as they did when the airport in Liberia opened ten years ago.
