IT automation software provider secures industry award.

PR9.NET June 13, 2008 - LONDON and NEW YORK – Tideway, one of the fastest growing providers of IT automation software, has won the Best Infrastructure Strategy Award at The Banker Technology Awards 2008, for the implementation of its flagship product Tideway Foundation at a major financial services organization.

Tideway won the award for the key role it played in enabling its customer to complete a significant data center relocation and reorganization project. Due to the bank's technological complexity and rapid growth, it did not have an accurate understanding of exactly how much or what type of equipment would be affected during the move. A full inventory of all systems, software and devices was unavailable. Even more critical, the interrelationships between infrastructure and services were also unclear, so there was no way of knowing what would happen if any single item was unplugged for removal to the new data center.

By deploying Tideway Foundation, the customer was able to find and visually map each business application and the physical and virtual hardware, software, systems - and dependencies between them. Foundation was also able to identify the data center hardware that should have been decommissioned but was still running in the data center - and thus consuming power.

With more than 300 entries submitted from around the world, The Banker Technology Awards recognize technology excellence in financial services and highlight the technology innovations that banks should be watching carefully in the year ahead.
